BANGALORE TO GANDIKOTA & BELUM CAVES [ROADTRIPBANGALORE]

A drive to the Grand Canyon of India Gandikota and Belum Caves, Andhra Pradesh

Hi everyone

Me and my friend haven’t gone on a road trip in quite some time, I also found that we can drive to another attraction so we decided this destination, Gandikota and Belum Caves. Gandikota to belum take an hour, the 60km distance.

Gandikota is a small village on the right bank of the river Pennar,its only 15 km from Jammalamadugu in Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh in India.

However the gorge view is one of a kind and definitely worth visiting. Definitely worth visiting and the view is fantastic during the monsoon season specially.

The place is a typical historic fort with a beautiful temple, masjid (as it was ruled by the Qutb Shahi rulers as well)

It has long wall running along the edges of a gorge and is part of the erramalla range. The gorge is extremely beautiful and picturesque. Gandikota to belum take another hour, the 60km distance to be covered.

Route taken (ongoing) :- Bangalore -> Bagepalli -> Kadiri -> Pulivendula -> Muddanur -> Gandikota
Total Distance – 282 km from Bangalore.
Driving Time – Approximately 6 hours.

Route taken (return) :- Belum -> Anantapur-> Gutturu -> Chikkaballapura -> bangalore

This route is much better as its NH as well as Asian Highway (AH43)

Total Distance – 325 km from Bangalore.

Driving Time – Approximately 5 hours.

This is a meditating place for Buddhist monks during ancient time seen inside this cave, wonder solid view of entrance and 1.6 sqkm stretched with and lot of amazing inside this dark place.

It’s Miracle of God.I wonder at first I went there. You will see a flat ground first and thought that, why we have traveled soo long to see this. But after entering beneath of the ground you think its worth of coming here.

This is one of the amazing caves i have ever visited. The cave is so spacious and well illuminated with air ducts. its a bit horrible inside if u have never visited such place before. the worst part was suddenly ligts went – off & we feel like total dark. i tried to switch on my cell led but its of no use so i & my friend decided to roll back, suddenly backup current came & we felt saved.

BANGALORE TO MUNNAR [ROADTRIPBANGALORE]

A drive to Munnar (god’s own country)

Hi everyone
I,along with my friends travelled to Munnar in our bikes, the trip was unplanned as usual.
The road to Munnar – After driving relentlessly for 10 hrs finally we reached Munnar.

No matter which route you take, it will involve ghat roads, lots of hairpin bends, and steep climbs as your destination is situated approximately 1800 meters above the sea level in the Western Ghats.

My heart is the abode of god, but my mind is a devils workshop. And I always listen to my mind.

Route taken (ongoing) :- Bangalore -> Hosur -> Salem -> Bhavani -> Avinashi -> Udumalpet -> Munnar
Total Distance – 478 km from Bangalore.
Driving Time – Approximately 10 hours.

The food was good, Service decent. The place is quite cramped up and lots of travelers try this place. Great food and easy to understand menu. The dish came out looking exactly like the picture on the menu. The best meal I had in Munnar. In my opinion, it serves the best food in Munnar.

Route taken (return) :- Munnar -> Theni -> Dindigul -> Karur -> velur -> Salem -> Dharmapuri -> Krishnagiri -> hosur -> bangalore

This route is much better as its NH as well as Asian Highway (AH)

Total Distance – 530 km from Bangalore.

Driving Time – Approximately 11 hours.
